Concrete sandblasting, also known as concrete shot blasting, is an abrasive blasting technique used to expose the aggregate on concrete surfaces and create a clean no-slip surface. Concrete can also be sandblasted to remove coatings, dirt and grime or for graffiti removal. Often, coloured rocks will be placed into the concrete mix and once sandblasted; these beautiful colours can be seen to a greater effect.

Sandblasting concrete for an exposed aggregate finish offers many key benefits:

  • High production rate - we can blast as many as 500 square meters a day, per sandblast machine.
  • Leaves an even aggregate exposure
  • Can expose as much or as little as desired
  • Creates a non-slip surface
  • Environmentally friendly

With the use of steel stencils, Aeroblast can sandblast any words, numbers, designs or graphics you like into any concrete surface, leaving an outstanding visual effect. Keep in mind; we are not limited to just concrete pavements; this can be performed on concrete walls, pavers, tiles and glass.

Our team of concrete shot blasters can remove all types of coatings from concrete, brick or rendered surfaces using wet sandblasting or dry sandblasting. Removing coatings from these surfaces can be simply to restore the substrate to its natural form, uncoated or to prepare the surface for new coatings to be applied, either way, Aeroblast's concrete sand blasters are your go-to surface preparation experts. Concrete grit blasting can be used to remove old or damaged sealers from surfaces such as driveways or paths.

For over 25 years we have worked on small and large scale projects across New South Wales with many different construction, landscape and architectural companies, gaining the knowledge to work with you to help achieve the finish required. To make sure this outcome is achieved, we are more than happy to come out to your site and provide a range of samples so you can choose what best fits your project. We also offer concrete sealing services after blasting to protect the surface from contaminants.

Whenever sandblasting is required on concrete it needs at least one day to cure, and it's best to start blasting a day after it has cured as it is much quicker and it's the best chance a getting a perfectly even aggregate exposure.
